Social Bar & Kitchen Menus
menu design, branding
This project was a re-design of the menus for a restaurant that is located in one of our hotel clients. The task was to come up with two “farm-to-table” looks that will be carried across various menu types and sizes. The colors were chosen based on the tiling (which you can see below) found in the restaurant and the pre-exisiting logo.
Some of the fonts were taken from previous menu iterations and earlier work, but reinvented and used in different ways. I think the contrast between the dramatic serif and the bold sans-serif are key in echoing the environment of this fun & quirky restaurant that is positioned in a 4-star hotel.
The “farm-to-table” concept is one that is often overdone, and not very original. My second menu design was a fresh take on the idea, presenting it in a more abstract and unique way. While this is not the design they chose to continue with, it was my personal favorite. You can see in the following images some close up shots of the menu details.
